Inter Unit Campcraft Competition 2018

Once every 2 years, AMKSS NPCC participates in the biannual campcraft competition organised by NPCC HQ. This year, the competition consists 3 different components - a tent, flagstaff and gadget, which serves as a trash collection point. We had to complete these 3 components in 10 minutes.

During our first practice, it took us 17 minutes to complete everything. However, as the saying goes “Practice makes Perfect”. We tried to improve on our time as much as possible every training.This goal was met with many obstacles and setbacks. The constant downpour and lightning alerts prevented us from practicing outdoors, and this severely affected our practice. Nevertheless, despite the unpredictable weather, the CIs and HOs tried to let us practice indoors as much as possible. During our last dry run, it still took 13 minutes.

Before the competition, nobody in our team thought that we could finish everything in 10 minutes. However, we defied all odds to complete it within 10 minutes. When we looked at the final product, there was a sense of satisfaction as all our efforts have not gone to waste. It was a meaningful experience as we persevered and showed that we could accomplish a task previously thought of as impossible.
