It's again the time of the year where Ang Mo Kio Secondary School NPCC hold it's very own exciting unit camp! Having the 5 key objectives (Teamwork, Responsibility, Perserverance, Enjoyment and Creativity) for this year's unit camp in mind, the Secondary 3 Cadet Leaders spent close to 2 months to craft out 3 Days 2 Nights of fun-filled activities. This unit camp also signifies to welcome our Secondary 1 cadets into our big family!
For 2 of their meals, the campers had Outdoor Field Cooking which exposes them to outdoor survival skills as they had to cook with tools that they are not very familiar with and are not readily available at home. Our campers mentioned that it taught them to persevere as it took several tries to successfully light up the solid fuel.
In alignment with our camp objectives, campers went on to participate in a series of Ninja themed activities! Firstly, it was the treasure hunt activity, Ninjas On Mission, which has an added element of fun. The 3 groups went to various checkpoints around the school to complete various interesting tasks given to them in order to obtain a clue to a 4-digit code. Then our unique night activity, Ninjas to the Rescue, which required them to complete a series of task which includes coming up with a dance item. With their teamwork and creativity, many interesting performances were put up. Excellent job!
That's not all! We also have our very own Ninja's edition of amazing race - Nin-mazing@ Bishan Park. Although the campers did not manage to participate fully in the activity due to the weather, some activities were brought indoors and the campers also had some bonding time within the group.
And finally, it was campfire night! Campers showcased their nicely put together performance and under the lead of Mervyn and Lee Yang, the unit came together for a series of songs and cheers. It was definitely a fun-filled night!

Congratulations to our best campers, Brendan and Cheng Ze! Throughout the camp, Brendan displayed good leadership skills and was observed to be constantly maintaining order not just within his group but also the unit. Cheng Ze made huge improvement during the camp by stepping out of his comfort zone to help his group and actively contributing ideas. Congratulations once again!
Well done all campers for participating actively in all the activities and we hope that this camp has been a memorable one! Last but not least, We would also like to thank all Teacher Officers, Honorary Officers and Cadet Inspectors for their support and guidance throughout the camp to make it a successful one!
